Paradise (really)

Holkham Beach

Holkham Beach in North Norfolk is a slice of heaven! It is unspoilt and definitely one of our favorites.  Once on the beach you can turn left towards Burnham Overy Staithe or right towards Wells-next-sea.  Either way you are in for endless golden sands, framed by rolling dunes and the pine forest creates a totally different environment and some shade on very hot days.

Whether you’re flying a kite, strolling with your dog, or simply enjoying the fresh coastal breeze, Holkham’s spacious shores make every visit special.

If you’re staying at Fakenham Fairways Campsite, you’re just a 20-minute drive away.  There’s ample parking close to both the forest and beach.

A true Gem

Brancaster Beach

Brancaster Beach

With miles of unspoilt golden sand it’s my absolute favourite place to swim, even if the water can be a little bracing in April!

The beach stretches endlessly, offering long walks with stunning views and refreshing sea air. Brancaster beach is also perfect for kite flying, playing games and building sandcastles. For the more adventurous, kite surfing is a popular activity here.  We love watching them take off and dream of being younger and fitter and able to have a go!

Parking is conveniently close to the beach. The car park has WC facilities and a small shop selling ice creams, buckets, spades, and even kites.

One word of caution.  Always check the Brancaster tide times before heading out, as the tides can come in quickly.

For those looking to stay nearby, Fakenham Fairways Campsite makes an excellent base. It’s within easy reach of Brancaster and offers a relaxing spot to unwind after a day exploring the coast.
